Our team at Sleep Foundation conducts extensive hands-on tests for each mattress to provide you with the most reliable, data-driven recommendations and reviews. Below are key guidelines that inform our testing methodology:
Our testers lie on the surface of each mattress to evaluate factors such as contouring and support. We also use specialized tools to measure performance criteria like pressure relief, heat retention, and motion isolation.
We test each mattress using various sleep positions to observe whether a mattress is better suited for side, back, or stomach sleeping. We roll around the surface and sit on the edges to gauge ease of movement and perimeter support.
We have tested hundreds of mattresses and bring years of experience in the mattress industry to the test lab. Our testing team covers a wide range of sleep preferences, sleep positions, and body types. This helps us represent as many sleeper types as possible in our reviews.
With a starting price of $765 (queen), the DreamCloud memory foam mattress performs similarly to its hybrid counterpart. Its all-foam design provides cloud-like cradling with a focus on both pressure relief and solid support. The construction of the mattress minimizes transfer of any movement to prevent disturbances across the bed.

Launched in 2018, DreamCloud focuses on selling sleep products with premium materials at budget-friendly prices. The company offers bedding, bed frames, and several mattress models, including the all-foam DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress.
Other mattresses in the main product line include the DreamCloud Mattress, the DreamCloud Premier Mattress, and the DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress. The DreamCloud is the company’s flagship medium firm (6) hybrid model, and the Premier is an upgraded hybrid with a similar feel. Meanwhile, the Premier Rest is a medium (5) hybrid model with a higher profile and plusher sleep surface. DreamCloud also produces all-foam versions of all these core models, though they vary significantly in construction and performance from their hybrid equivalents.
Technically, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress acts as an all-foam version of the DreamCloud Mattress, but it stands apart for its distinct design and more generous use of memory foam. At 12 inches thick, this medium firm mattress has the lowest profile of all DreamCloud models.
We’ll share how the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress performed during our in-house tests, including what type of sleepers found the surface most comfortable. In addition, we’ll explain the bed’s construction, pricing, and policies to help you decide if it is an ideal fit for you.

Testing Team Takeaways
To test the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.

Side and back sleeper
Always sleeps under a weighted blanket
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is comfortable enough for both side and back sleeping, but it feels a bit firmer than the average medium firm bed. I noticed some pressure begin to build in my shoulders after some time sleeping on my side, and my hips sank just a bit in this position. Overall I’d say this mattress was pretty middle-of-the-road for me.

I was excited to try Dreamcloud’s all-foam model after hearing a lot of great things about it. Upon first laying on it, I had to triple check that it wasn’t the hybrid model because it had that initial give of memory foam but still felt really supportive at its core. I move around a lot during the night and found it to be really forgiving from that aspect, even along the perimeter. It was maybe a teeny bit firm initially for my liking I found myself favoring this bed to other softer beds after just a few nights.

This really is a dream mattress, not too firm, not too soft: it was just right! On my back my hips were well supported without sinking too much. The design effectively minimizes pressure points, ensuring a restful and comfortable sleep experience.

Side Sleepers
Of all our testers, those who sleep on their sides awarded the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress the highest marks. Team members between 130 and 230 pounds reported that its balance of contouring and support is among the best they’ve experienced. Those over 230 pounds were also enthused, but some thought a firmer feel would keep their spines on a more even plane. Additionally, many testers under 130 pounds found the bed quite comfortable, though some didn’t sink in deeply enough to enjoy ample cradling.
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress adjusts to a side sleeper’s shape to counteract the pressure buildup they often experience when their hips and shoulders press too hard against the mattress surface. Two memory foam layers redistribute the sleeper’s weight by molding closely to their curves, while two polyfoam comfort layers gently cushion and cradle the sleeper’s body.
Back Sleepers
During our tests, back sleepers under 130 pounds had the best experience on this mattress. They stayed close enough to the surface to promote good posture, but they also experienced noticeable cradling. Back sleepers over 130 pounds also felt comfortable, though some reported that a firmer surface would help them maintain better spinal alignment.
The DreamCloud Memory Foam’s medium firm feel and limited sinkage are well suited for back sleeping. While the memory foam layers let the hips sink in enough to gently cradle a back sleeper’s lumbar region and support its natural curvature, the polyfoam core adds even support to help prevent excessive sagging that could strain the lower back.
Stomach Sleepers
Our team members under 130 pounds liked the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress’ medium firm feel and overall level of support. While the surface felt somewhat plush, their bodies sank in evenly, helping them maintain more neutral spinal positions. Those between 130 and 230 pounds also reported adequate support, but testers over 230 pounds noted sinkage around the midsection and lower back discomfort.
Stomach sleepers typically need more support than those who favor other sleep positions, so the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is most appropriate for lighter individuals who do not sink in as deeply. Its memory foam and polyfoam comfort system cushions the surface so that it doesn’t feel hard against a stomach sleeper’s front side. At the same time, a lighter individual’s abdomen shouldn’t sag deeply enough into the surface to pull their spine into an unnatural curve.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
8
/ 10
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress isolates motion very well. My partners shifts throughout the night did not disturb my sleep at all, resulting in both of us feeling more rested. – Danny
Like many all-foam models that incorporate memory foam, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress isolates motion exceptionally well. The top layer of memory foam is quilted into the cover, limiting motion transfer and dampening any vibrations that manage to reach the lower layers of the mattress. While minor vibrations could spread slightly across the subsequent polyfoam layer quilted into the cover, another inch of memory foam underneath helps prevent movement from traveling deeper into the mattress.
Our in-house testers felt very little movement when lying on the mattress. We had another tester change positions on the opposite side of the bed and dropped a kettlebell on the mattress, but our testers felt virtually no disturbances. Because of this, we recommend the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress for sleepers who tend to wake up when their partner moves during the night.
Pressure Relief
8
/ 10
As a sometimes side sleeper, I am sensitive to pressure points and this is where the DreamCloud Memory Foam mattress really excelled. This mattress found the balance between firmness and softness, and offered perfect support for my hips and spine. – Brad
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress’ pressure-relieving capabilities are on par with many medium firm models that incorporate memory foam. This model’s top memory foam layer is quilted into the cover for a close hugging sensation. Meanwhile, polyfoam quilted into the cover adds cushioning, and a polyfoam transition layer aids in weight redistribution while restricting sinkage to promote good posture.
Because side sleepers typically experience sharper pressure points, those on our team who favor this position were especially impressed with the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress’ pressure relief. Our pressure mapping showed that the mattress evenly distributed pressure across our testers’ bodies, and they reported feeling little to no pressure buildup around critical areas like their hips and shoulders.
Temperature Control
6.5
/ 10
I wouldn’t label myself a hot sleeper but even I can appreciate the standout temperature control of the DreamCloud Memory Foam. This is a tough feat for all-foam beds, but the gel infusions in the comfort layer’s memory foam kept me cool throughout the night. – Brad
While memory foam mattresses often have a reputation for retaining heat, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress has decent temperature control that’s likely to satisfy most sleepers.
Because memory foam molds closely to the body and restricts airflow, it can sometimes trap heat. Like many of the best memory foam mattresses, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress incorporates gel infusions designed to counteract overheating by actively transferring the sleeper’s warmth away from their body. The cashmere blend cover is also breathable so that air can reach the inside of the mattress.
We took temperature readings to see how much heat lingered on the surface. While there was some residual warmth, it wasn’t as significant as many models that use memory foam. Additionally, the heat dissipated relatively quickly.
Edge Support
6
/ 10
Since the DreamCloud Memory Foam is on the firmer side, you shouldn’t experience too much compression along the perimeter when getting in and out of bed. That said, our testers over 230 pounds noticed some sinkage. – Mary
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress has moderate edge support, outperforming many similarly constructed models in this area. While it does not have a reinforced perimeter, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress’ medium firm feel and supportive design limit sinkage along the perimeter.
During our tests, most team members felt secure sitting or lying along the perimeter. Those over 230 pounds noticed more sinkage, but they didn’t feel restricted to using just the center of the bed.
Ease of Movement
6
/ 10
The DreamCloud’s memory foam requires me to exert a little more force than usual when shifting positions, but the fact that it feels firmer than most medium firm beds helps offset some of that. Not quite a standout feature, but also not worth knocking any points off. – Danny
Thanks to its medium firm feel and multilayer comfort system, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is moderately easy to move on compared with other all-foam models.
Since this mattress is on the firmer side of the average range, most sleepers shouldn’t sink in deeply enough to significantly restrict movement. While the memory foam layers mold to the body and are slower to respond to changes in pressure, this model also incorporates layers of more responsive polyfoam.
All of our testers could change positions relatively easily, though those over 230 pounds felt slightly more impeded because they sank in more deeply.
Off-Gassing
5.5
/ 10
Like other memory foam mattresses we’ve tested, the DreamCloud model produces significant off-gassing for the first 48 hours after unboxing. The odors eventually dissipate, but those first couple nights may be tough if you have a strong sense of smell. – Mary
Because it contains foam and ships compressed, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is likely to have an initial odor after unboxing it and removing the plastic. This stems from the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced during the foam manufacturing process.
Our team members reported moderate off-gassing odors when they unpacked the mattress in our Test Lab. After 48 hours, they observed that the smell had mostly dissipated.
The DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is a medium firm (6) all-foam model with a 12-inch profile.
A quilted cover tops the mattress. The fabric consists of a breathable cashmere blend that adds plushness while letting air circulate. Quilted into the cover are 1.2 inches of memory foam and a half-inch of polyfoam. The memory foam molds to the body, while a gel infusion is designed to dissipate heat. The polyfoam adds cushioning and support.
Another inch of gel-infused memory foam provides deeper cradling and pressure relief. Rounding out the comfort system, a 1-inch polyfoam layer helps spread the sleeper’s body weight more evenly across the surface while acting as a buffer from the firmer support core.
The core uses 9 inches of polyfoam to limit motion transfer while providing even support. Finally, a tufted lower cover wraps around the outside of the mattress. It is engineered to resist shifting, and four handles make the mattress easier to move. Astute readers may notice that these measurements do not add up to 12 inches, but DreamCloud explains that the layers compress somewhat during the final quilting when the layers are tacked together, resulting in a 12-inch mattress.
In addition to the six standard mattress sizes, the DreamCloud Memory Foam Mattress is also available in split king.
