Established by the National Sleep Foundation, the Sleep Technology CouncilTM is comprised of 20+ companies that are thriving at the intersection of sleep and technology. Members include Beddit, Jawbone, MetroNaps, NASA, Responsive Surface Technology (ReST), and Serta, just to name a few.
Co-located with the Health 2.0 10th Annual Fall Conference, September 25-28, 2016, the Sleep Technology Summit (STS) will explore innovations in sleep health technology.
On October 6-7 2015, the National Sleep Foundation launched the First Annual Sleep Technology Summit & Expo co-located with the Health 2.0 Fall Conference in Santa Clara, CA. The Summit explored the newest innovations in sleep technology as well as the business and investment opportunities within this growing segment of technology. Speakers included Fullpower Technologies, Jawbone, Misfit, Philips Respironics, and many others. The Expo featured the latest sleep and technology products which were also showcased on a concurrently organized satellite media tour. The media tour resulted in 24 radio and TV spots around the country and more than 8 million audience impressions.
In September 2015 the National Sleep Foundation’s CEO David Cloud participated on a panel at the Connected Health Summit in San Diego, CA. The session included speakers from iHealth Labs, LumoBody Tech, ARM and the Consumer Electronics Association and explored opportunities for care providers and payers to leverage consumer interest in wearables to bring about better health outcomes.
Since 2014 the National Sleep Foundation has advanced the Sleep Technology Standards Working Group administered by Consumer Technology Association designed to bring together sleep experts and technology manufacturers to enhance technology standards for sleep technology. To date, the working group has 42 members, including Apple, Beddit, Fitbit, Qualcomm Inc. and Jawbone, among others.
