Sturdy support designed to accommodate up to 1,000 pounds
Enhanced temperature regulation thanks to a breathable design and features engineered for cooling
Superior motion isolation so partners are less likely to feel movements
Stable edge support allows heavier individuals to sit or lie along the perimeter
Cons
Higher than average price-point
Moderate pressure relief due to the supportive design
The feel may be too firm for some and too soft for others
The Titan mattress line is produced by Brooklyn Bedding, a company that was among the first to join the “mattress in a box” movement in 2008. Titan mattresses are hybrids designed specifically for larger, heavier bodies that need more support than average models offer. The Titan Plus Elite is a premium, high-profile model with a firm (7) feel, upgraded features, and a higher price tag to match.
Other models in the line include the Titan Plus Mattress and the Titan Plus Luxe Mattress. The Titan Plus has a firm (8) feel, whereas the Titan Plus Luxe is medium firm (6). These two options have lower profiles than the Titan Plus Elite, incorporating fewer layers. However, their scaled-back designs also carry lower price tags.
We’ll break down how the Titan Plus Elite performed in our in-house tests, sharing which team members found it most comfortable, what we saw as its greatest strengths, and who it might be ideal for.

Testing Team Takeaways
To test the Titan Plus Elite, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.
Colin Simpson
Product Research Manager
Side sleeper
190 pounds
Talks in sleep (like a lot)
This mattress feels really firm and robust. A lot of foam hybrids sink at least a little bit, but not this one. But that isn’t to say there isn’t any cushioning — on the contrary, the top two layers give a light hug and I never found the surface too stiff.
Brad Nehring
Senior Product Analyst
Side and back sleeper
215 pounds
Always sleeps with a weighted blanket
What Colin said. I’m a bigger guy, so I can appreciate a mattress that claims to support larger bodies and then delivers the goods. The Elite Plus definitely hits that mark.
Daniel Noyed
Senior Product Editor
Back sleeper
165 pounds
Dunks head in ice water to wake up
On the one hand, this mattress is a little too firm for my liking. However, I can see how people who need a supportive sleep surface would really feel comfortable on the Elite Plus. So it gets a thumbs-up from me, even if it isn’t my cup of tea.

Side Sleepers
While side sleepers often gravitate away from firm mattresses, the Titan Plus Elite performs well for this popular sleep position. It doesn’t offer the deep pressure relief of plusher models, but its thick comfort system is still well suited to side sleeping. A polyfoam pillow-top gently cushions the surface. Meanwhile, another polyfoam layer and microcoil system underneath allow a side sleeper’s hips and shoulders to sink in enough to promote good posture.
Regardless of weight, our testers felt like they could sleep comfortably on their sides on the Titan Plus Elite Mattress. That said, those between 130 and 230 pounds were most impressed.
Back Sleepers
We expect most back sleepers to get an appropriate balance of contouring and support from the Titan Plus Elite Mattress. The polyfoam layers and microcoil system mold subtly to the spine for support, but the firm (7) feel limits excessive sinkage that could otherwise jeopardize alignment.
As with side sleeping, our testers across weight groups found the Titan Plus Elite Mattress comfortable for back sleeping. However, those in the 130 to 230-pound range rated it particularly high.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers usually have the hardest time getting the support they need, but the Titan Plus Elite Mattress can provide it for some. This model’s polyfoam layers cushion the surface, while its firm (7) feel helps prevent a stomach sleeper’s midsection from sagging deeply and forcing their spine into an uncomfortable U shape.
In our tests, team members between 130 and 230 pounds got enough cushioning and support to lie comfortably on their stomachs. Those under 130 pounds felt they could have used some more cushioning, whereas those over 230 pounds would have preferred sturdier support around their midsections.
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
8
/ 10
“Motion isolation is a little limited with the Elite Plus. With two coil layers, there’s some noticeable bounce on the surface.” – Colin
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress absorbs motion as effectively as we’d expect from any of the best mattresses for couples. While plusher models frequently have exceptional motion isolation, this trait is rarer in firm designs, like the Titan Plus Elite.
Thanks to the comfort system’s three layers of polyfoam and microcoil system, many vibrations never reach the mattress’ coil core. Those that do don’t spread much because the coils move independently of each other.
In our vibration readings, we picked up some movement when we dropped a kettlebell on one side of the bed, but don’t expect this would be enough to interfere with sleep for most individuals.
Pressure Relief
6.5
/ 10
“The Elite Plus is on the firmer side and people who weigh 230 pounds or less may notice some pressure buildup, but the foam layers do provide some nice surface-level cushioning.” – Danny
Like many firm mattress models, pressure relief is not the Titan Plus Elite Mattress’ strong suit. However, its generous comfort system allows it to outperform some competitors in this category. The pillow-top design and polyfoam layers add cushion, while the microcoil system provides a degree of cradling.
Our pressure mapping showed some pressure buildup, particularly around the hips and shoulders of side sleepers. However, they reported that it did not cause discomfort.
Temperature Control
7.5
/ 10
“The Elite Plus’ temperature control is top-notch. You may notice some light heat on the surface, but the coil layers should promote enough airflow to keep the mattress cool.” – Brad
Hybrid models consistently are among the best cooling mattresses, so it comes as no surprise that the Titan Plus Elite earns high marks in this category. Its cover incorporates fibers designed for cooling, and a gel infusion in the first layer of polyfoam under the pillow-top is engineered to transfer heat away from the sleeper’s body. Additionally, the dual-coil system lets air circulate through the mattress so that heat can escape.
We recorded some lingering heat after we removed a hot water bottle from the surface, but it dissipated relatively quickly. Our team members who tend to run hot also said the Titan Plus Elite stayed a relatively neutral temperature.
Edge Support
8
/ 10
“The Titan Plus Elite has great edge support by design. A firm surface paired with robust coils makes the perimeter feel really sturdy when you get in and out of bed.” – Brad
The best hybrid mattresses traditionally have supportive edges, and the Titan Plus Elite is no different. Because of its firm (7) feel and supportive pocketed coil core, the edge doesn’t compress excessively when a sleeper sits or lies along it.
Our testers of all weights felt secure when they approached the perimeter, which allowed them to use more of the mattress’ surface area rather than gravitate toward the center.
Ease of Movement
7
/ 10
“You might notice some resistance moving on the Elite Plus. The coil layers make the surface feel somewhat responsive, but the thick foam layers can counteract the bounce.” – Colin
With a springy coil system and firm (7) support, the Titan Plus Elite is fairly easy to move around on. However, it doesn’t excel at allowing movement to the same extent as some firm hybrid models due to its thick comfort system. That said, the mattress is firm enough that the sleeper is unlikely to sink in so deeply that they feel trapped in the bed, and the surface doesn’t retain lingering body impressions.
None of our testers felt that the mattress inhibited their movement, though some team members over 230 pounds had to put in a little more effort since they sunk in farther.
Off-Gassing
7.5
/ 10
“Like a lot of foam hybrids, there’s some strong off-gassing at first, but nothing too severe and the smells clear out in a day or two.” – Danny
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress is likely to have an initial smell when first unpacked, but this is not unique to the model. Any mattress that contains synthetic foam and ships compressed may have a similar odor. The familiar new mattress smell is typically attributed to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are chemicals that become embedded in the material during manufacturing. They don’t have time to air out when a mattress is compressed and rolled for shipping, so you may notice them when you unpack it.
We noticed a mild odor when we unpacked the Titan Plus Elite in our sleep lab, but our team members reported that it was nearly undetectable within 24 hours. Additionally, Titan uses foam that’s certified by CertiPUR-US, which means it passes third-party tests to confirm low VOC emissions.
The Titan Plus Elite is a firm (7) hybrid mattress measuring 14.5 inches thick, which makes it a high-profile model. Tall sleepers may find that the added height makes it easier to get into and out of bed, but it also means the mattress may require deep pocket sheets.
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress starts out with a pillow-top for cushioning. The fabric cover uses GlacioTex+, which incorporates fibers designed for cooling. Inside, 2 inches of polyfoam soften the surface. Under the pillow-top lies another 1.25 inches of polyfoam for contouring. This layer also includes a gel infusion engineered to wick away heat. Next, there is a .75-inch microcoil system for supportive contouring, pressure relief, and motion isolation. A 1.5-inch polyfoam transition layer serves as a barrier between the comfort system and the support core.
The core contains 8 inches of pocketed coils, providing ample support and responsiveness while letting air circulate to dissipate heat. Finally, a 1-inch polyfoam base bolsters the coil system

Construction
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress consists of a fabric cover designed for cooling, two polyfoam comfort layers, a microcoil system, a polyfoam transition layer, a pocketed coil core, and a polyfoam base.
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress costs a bit more than other models in the Titan line, but less than the average hybrid. However, the Titan line already joins the ranks of the best mattresses for heavy people, and the Titan Plus Elite puts a new twist on the popular Titan design. This may make the Titan Plus Elite worth its more premium price tag for larger sleepers.
In addition to the six standard mattress sizes, the Titan Plus Elite is also available in short queen and RV king sizes.
The Titan Plus Elite Mattress is available through the Titan website. Some Titan models are also sold through select third-party websites, such as Amazon and Wayfair. In addition, Brooklyn Bedding products appear in dozens of mattress showrooms across the country. However, it is important to note that different policies apply to purchases through vendors other than the official website.
Shipping
Orders through the Titan website ship to all 50 U.S. states and Canada. Shipping is free within the contiguous U.S., though nonrefundable charges apply for orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
In the contiguous U.S., Titan mattresses ship via FedEx or UPS. In Canada, they arrive via DHL.
Mattress production usually takes 5 to 10 business days. Customers receive tracking information once their mattress ships, giving a clearer idea of the ultimate arrival date.
The mattress is delivered to the customer’s door or wherever they typically receive large packages. It is wrapped in plastic, rolled, and encased in a box prior to shipping for maneuverability. It’s up to the customer to bring the boxed mattress into their room of choice, unpack it, and carefully remove the plastic. This process is typically best done with a partner.
Additional Services
White Glove delivery and old mattress removal are not available for purchases through the Titan website.
Sleep Trial
When purchased through the Titan website, the Titan Plus Elite Mattress comes with a 120-night trial policy. After you’ve tried the mattress for at least 30 days, you can initiate the return process if it’s not right for you. Titan will help arrange to dispose of the unwanted mattress and issue a refund. A $99 return fee applies.
Canadian refunds may differ from the original purchase price if the currency conversion rate has changed.
Each customer is only eligible to use one sleep trial, which means if you purchase one mattress, return it, and then purchase a different Titan model, that second model isn’t eligible for the policy.
Warranty
Purchases of the Titan Plus Elite Mattress through the official website come with a 10-year limited warranty for the original purchaser. Brooklyn Bedding offers to repair or replace the mattress if it determines that there is a qualifying defect, such as an impression over 1.5 inches deep, sagging, or a defect in the foam, including deterioration of the cell structure, cracking, or splitting.
To be eligible, the mattress must not have remained compressed for more than 60 days. It must also have been handled properly, free from abuse and misuse, and used with proper support. Stains and use of an improper foundation void the warranty.
