Like most beds that feature memory foam comfort systems, the TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress does a very good job of isolating motion.
The two layers of TEMPUR memory foam in the hybrid bed’s comfort system absorb movement, meaning sleep partners can get in and out of bed and change positions without disturbing each other.
Motion isolation is most beneficial for light sleepers, those with pets who jump in and out of bed, and partners who sleep restlessly or have different bedtimes. It can also be an important factor for people who share a bed with a child.

Founded in 1992, Tempur-Pedic has been a popular mattress brand for decades. Now a subsidiary of Tempur Sealy International, the company’s foam and hybrid beds include proprietary TEMPUR material. Originally developed by NASA scientists, the open-cell memory foam material was adapted by Tempur-Pedic for use in mattresses. TEMPUR foam adjusts to body pressure, providing above-average cushioning and contouring.
Designed to reduce pressure, the TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid offers a similar conforming feel to the all-foam TEMPUR-Cloud Mattress. However, it includes more than 1,000 coils in its support core, which enhances edge support and creates a bouncier surface conducive to movement.
Tempur-Pedic’s other models include the luxury TEMPUR-Adapt and TEMPUR-breeze collections. The TEMPUR-Adapt, TEMPUR-ProAdapt, and TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt mattresses are constructed with readily contouring foam for improved pressure relief, while the TEMPUR-PRObreeze and TEMPUR-LUXEbreeze beds incorporate phase change material for enhanced breathability. Each of these models features an all-foam design, with some also available in a hybrid version.
We’ll focus on the TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress, covering its construction, cost, and performance to help you decide if it’s the best bed for you.

Answer a few questions to find the right mattress for your unique needs
Sleeping Style and Body Weight
Side Sleepers
Side sleepers generally need a mattress that conforms to the body to alleviate pressure and promote spinal alignment. With its medium (5) feel and adaptive memory foam, the TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress properly supports side sleepers of a range of body types
The responsive TEMPUR material in the hybrid bed’s comfort system contours around the sleeper’s natural curves, reducing pressure points that can cause pain. For side sleepers, the shoulders and hips are high-pressure areas that require cushioning, and the TEMPUR material offers a conforming surface that many side sleepers appreciate.
Our tests show that this mattress performs best for those weighing less than 230 pounds. However, thanks to dense polyfoam and springy coils in the support core that prevent sinkage, side sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds are also well supported.
Back Sleepers
The TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress is suitable for most back sleepers. These sleepers don’t require the same level of soft cushioning or pressure relief as side sleepers, and they typically prefer a medium firm to firm sleep surface with moderate conforming that reduces pressure in the lumbar area.
This bed efficiently decreases pressure, cradling the sleeper with a responsive, pressure-relieving comfort system. However, strongly supportive coils and dense foam in the support core also distribute weight evenly across its surface, minimizing sinkage to help back sleepers maintain a neutral spine.
The mattress adequately supports back sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds. Those weighing more than 230 pounds risk spinal misalignment due to inadequate support and may want to consider a firmer bed with a thicker comfort system.
Stomach Sleepers
The TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress doesn’t offer the firm feel that many stomach sleepers require. This sleep position puts a lot of pressure on the vertebrae in the spine, and it’s important to have a firmly supportive mattress to reduce pressure and prevent the spine from falling out of alignment.
Our testers found this mattress does a good job of supporting stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds. Those heavier than 130 pounds should consider a firmer bed with less contouring.

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Review Breakdown
The comfort system of the TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid Mattress consists of two layers of proprietary TEMPUR memory foam. The top layer is soft and responsive, creating plush cushioning for immediate comfort. The firmer layer beneath adapts to the body slowly, conforming through the night for long-term pressure relief and support.
More than 1,000 coils and a dense polyfoam layer in the support core reinforce the comfort system, increasing stability and durability. The coils boost edge support and add a modest bounce to the surface, preventing the sinking feeling often experienced with memory foam beds.
Like the all-foam TEMPUR-Cloud Mattress, the 10-inch TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid has a medium firmness level that rates as a 5 on our 10-point scale. The all-foam model excludes coils in favor of an entirely polyfoam support core, but otherwise features comparable comfort layers.
The TEMPUR-Cloud Hybrid is compressed and shipped reusable canvas bag within in a recyclable cardboard box. When removed from its packaging and unrolled, it expands immediately and is ready to use within minutes.
The mattress requires solid support from a slatted or flat foundation, platform bed, or power base to perform as intended. Tempur-Pedic mattresses should not be used directly on the floor or with box springs.
