Tempur-Pedic offers a range of comfortable and supportive mattress models designed to suit the needs of a wide variety of sleepers.

Unlike the company’s other mattress lines, such as the TEMPUR-Adapt, the TEMPUR-ProAdapt, and the TEMPUR-Cloud, the Tempur-Breeze mattress line focuses specifically on mattresses with cooling properties. This line includes the Tempur-PRObreeze, the Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid, and the Tempur-LUXEbreeze.

This line of all-foam and hybrid beds incorporates features that are designed for cooling into both the construction and materials of each mattress model.

We will provide in-depth information on each mattress’ construction, materials, pricing, and sizing. We’ll also discuss how each mattress in the Tempur-Breeze product line works for different sleep styles and body types.

The Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress comes in two firmness levels to meet the needs of different sleep styles and body types.

Choose the Tempur-LUXEbreeze – Soft if: Choose the Tempur-LUXEbreeze – Firm if:
– you need the enveloping pressure relief of a memory foam mattress. It offers the best sleep experience for side and back sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds. – you need firmer support from a foam mattress. Side Sleepers:
Side sleepers tend to benefit from mattresses that allow their hips and shoulders to sink in deep enough for proper spinal alignment. The all-foam design of the Tempur-PRObreeze Mattress does just that, contouring to the sleeper’s body to prevent pressure points and to provide side sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds with excellent support.

However, side sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds will likely need to find a firmer mattress.

Back Sleepers:
Medium to medium-firm mattresses generally offer the best support to back sleepers, who will benefit from this model’s all-foam construction. The medium firmness level of the Tempur-PRObreeze best supports back sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds.

Back sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds may want to consider purchasing a firmer mattress, which can help them maintain proper spinal alignment while sleeping.

Stomach Sleepers:
Stomach sleepers typically require the most support of any type of sleeper. Without adequate support from their mattress, stomach sleepers won’t maintain proper posture overnight, which can lead to pain in the hips and back.

However, at a medium firmness level with a contouring foam design, the Tempur-PRObreeze Mattress will adequately support stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds. That said, stomach sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds should consider purchasing a firmer mattress or a hybrid mattress.

Side Sleepers:
With a contouring foam comfort layer and a pocketed coil support core, the Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress provides good support for side sleepers under 230 pounds, including pressure relief at the hips and shoulders.

Thanks to the pocketed coils included in its support core, this bed also sleeps cool, making it a great option for side sleepers under 230 pounds who tend to sleep hot. However, sleepers over 230 pounds may prefer a firmer mattress for greater support.

Back Sleepers:
With its soft, conforming comfort system, this mattress provides sufficient support for back sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds. Those weighing more than 230 pounds, however, may need more support than this mattress provides.

Stomach Sleepers:
Memory foam mattresses often lack the support that stomach sleepers require for proper spinal alignment. While the Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress can offer stomach sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds adequate support, those weighing more than 130 pounds will need a firmer mattress.

Side Sleepers:
Most side sleepers require significant pressure relief from a mattress to achieve proper spinal alignment during sleep. The soft Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress provides excellent support and pressure relief to side sleepers weighing less than 130 pounds, while the firm Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress offers the best support for side sleepers weighing more than 130 pounds.

The firm mattress’ foam construction works better for those above 130 pounds because it’s slightly less conforming, providing a more stable surface that can adequately support the sleeper’s weight and help them maintain good posture. The softer mattress provides the necessary support for proper spinal alignment for side sleepers under 130 pounds.

Back Sleepers:
Back sleepers will get better support with the firm Tempur-LUXEbreeze mattress. Its construction contours to the body at important pressure points, like the hips, heels, and shoulders, while still providing a firm, stable sleeping surface.

The soft option, on the other hand, doesn’t offer ideal support for most back sleepers, with the exception of those weighing less than 130 pounds. Because these sleepers don’t need as much support, they can still enjoy a good night’s sleep on this soft, conforming foam mattress.

Stomach Sleepers:
The firm Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress offers the right combination of support and pressure relief for stomach sleepers of varying weights. The soft version of this mattress, however, does not offer the necessary support for comfortable sleep, as it allows the midsection to sink too far into that mattress, especially those weighing more than 230 pounds.

Tempur-PRObreeze and Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress Performance

In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.

Motion Isolation

8 / 10

The Tempur-PRObreeze Mattress and the Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress both provide very good motion isolation, which can help sensitive sleepers enjoy an undisturbed night’s sleep, even when sleeping next to a restless partner.

Mattresses with thick memory foam comfort systems often make an excellent choice for people who want to reduce motion transfer. The hybrid version of the bed also effectively reduces motion transfer, as the coils are individually pocketed.

Pressure Relief

8.5 / 10

The PRObreeze and PRObreeze Hybrid Mattresses both offer very good pressure relief and support to a range of sleep types and body weights.

Mattresses with good pressure relief limit pressure buildup on areas of the body such as the hips and shoulders, helping the sleeper maintain proper spinal alignment while they sleep. If a mattress doesn’t provide adequate pressure relief, it can lead to soreness or pain upon waking.

Side sleepers typically require the most pressure relief, while stomach sleepers require the least. The memory foam comfort layer cradles sleepers’ bodies, providing give in the right spots and encouraging good posture.

Temperature Control

7 / 10

Hybrid: 8 / 10

All-Foam: 6.5 / 10

The PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress includes coils, allowing for more airflow than the all-foam Tempur-PRObreeze, which gives it slightly better performance when it comes to temperature control.

However, both beds are designed to offer good temperature control, and the construction of each bed also focuses on breathability. Both models include a cover infused with cooling and phase change materials, which are designed to disperse heat.

Tempur-Pedic’s foam material, Tempur CM+, is designed to reduce heat absorption and offset the foam’s natural tendency toward trapping heat.

Edge Support

7 / 10

Hybrid: 6.5 / 10

All-Foam: 5 / 10

The PRObreeze’s all-foam construction does not provide strong edge support, so shoppers who focus on this area will likely prefer the PRObreeze Hybrid over the all-foam version of the bed.

Due to the reinforcement of its pocketed coils, the PRObreeze Hybrid performs a bit better in this regard, though the memory foam comfort system may leave something to be desired for those who frequently sit or sleep on the edge of the bed.

Ease of Movement

6.5 / 10

Hybrid: 6.5 / 10

All-Foam: 5 / 10

Thanks to its pocketed coil support core, the PRObreeze Hybrid has a bit more bounce than the all-foam PRObreeze, making it slightly easier to move across the surface of the bed.

Sleepers who enjoy the close conforming of memory foam will likely prefer the all-foam version of the PRObreeze, while sleepers who have more difficulty transitioning from lying in bed to standing may want to opt for the hybrid version.

Off-Gassing

7 / 10

Like most mattresses that contain memory foam, the PRObreeze and the PRObreeze Hybrid produce a fair amount of noticeable smells. The chemical smell is generally considered harmless, though, and will likely dissipate within a few days.

Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress Performance

Motion Isolation

9 / 10

Both the firm and soft Tempur-LUXEbreeze mattresses provide very good motion isolation due to the memory foam comfort system. The multilayer foam construction cradles the body, ensuring that there’s little motion transfer across the surface of the bed.

Pressure Relief

8.5 / 10

Soft: 7.5 / 10

Firm: 6.5 / 10

The soft version of the Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress includes multi-layered memory foam that molds to the body, relieving pressure at key points, such as the hips and shoulders. This encourages proper spinal alignment and helps prevent soreness and pain upon waking.

While the firm option also includes multiple foam layers that provide comfort and support, the foam in the firm mattress doesn’t offer the same level of pressure relief to most sleepers as the softer mattress.

Temperature Control

5.5 / 10

Soft: 6 / 10

Firm: 8 / 10

The firm version of Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress performs well for hot sleepers. Despite its foam construction, it should provide a cool sleep experience, even for those in warm climates. The soft option also works adequately for hot sleepers, but because it conforms more closely to the body, it doesn’t perform quite as well as the firm version.

Both Tempur-LUXEbreeze models allow for increased airflow and are designed to dissipate heat using cooling features like ventilated foam and a breathable, cool-to-the-touch cover.

Edge Support

6.5 / 10

Soft: 4.5 / 10

Firm: 6.5 / 10

Those who have a tendency to sleep toward the edge of the bed or those who like to sit on the edge of the bed will likely prefer the firm Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress over the soft option, which provides little edge support due to its soft firmness level and all-foam construction.

Ease of Movement

5.5 / 10

Soft: 4.5 / 10

Firm: 6.5 / 10

Sleepers should be able to move across the surface of the firm version of the Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress relatively easily, which is good for active sleepers and those who may have a difficult time getting in and out of bed.

The soft LUXEbreeze offers more of a sinking, contouring feeling, which is great for pressure relief but doesn’t encourage easy movement.

Off-Gassing

6 / 10

Foam mattresses such as the Tempur-LUXEbreeze Mattress tend to off-gas more than other types of mattresses when first removed from their packaging. However, off-gassing is generally harmless and fades quickly, usually within a few hours to a few days.

Tempur-Breeze Mattress Review Breakdown

Tempur-Pedic designed its line of Tempur-Breeze mattresses with cooling elements that are meant to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep even for hot sleepers. The line includes three mattresses: the Tempur-PRObreeze, the Tempur-PRObreeze Hybrid, and the Tempur-LUXEbreeze.

The sizes of the mattresses range from twin XL to California king. Both PRObreeze models come in a medium (5) firmness level, while the LUXEbreeze offers shoppers a choice between a soft (3) and firm (7) firmness level.

At 13 inches in height, the Tempur-LUXEbreeze is slightly thicker than either of the PRObreeze options, which are both available at a 12-inch height.

While all the Tempur-Breeze mattresses include a SmartClimate cover created with phase change materials designed to provide enhanced cooling, the beds differ in other areas in order to offer the best support to the widest variety of sleepers. The PRObreeze and LUXEbreeze mattresses feature all-foam designs, while the PRObreeze Hybrid Mattress features a pocketed coil support core that improves temperature neutrality and adds extra edge support.

To increase breathability, the LUXEbreeze includes a layer of ventilated foam called Tempur-APR, which is not present in the PRObreeze models.

The foam materials used in Tempur-Breeze mattresses are CertiPUR-US certified, meaning the foam is made without certain materials considered harmful to humans and the environment, such as formaldehyde, ozone depleters, and heavy metals.

The memory foam comfort layers in all three mattresses isolate motion well, limiting movement across the beds’ surface and making these mattresses a great option for couples and those who sleep in the same bed as their pets or children.

Tempur-Pedic mattresses are made in the U.S., and the company backs the quality and construction of its mattresses with a 10-year warranty.
