The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress feels medium firm (6), a mid-range firmness level that suits many types of sleepers. As with other Saatva mattresses, the Memory Foam Hybrid comes with free White Glove delivery and a sleep trial that lasts for a full year.
We took a detailed look at this mattress in our in-house Test Lab. We’ll describe the findings of our testing and outline the benefits and drawbacks of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid to help you make a decision about whether it’s a good fit for your sleep needs.

Testing Team Takeaways
To test the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.
Mary Fenton
Head of Product Content
Hybrid sleeper
150 pounds
Sleeps with noise machine
As a combination sleeper, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable this mattress was for me in different sleeping positions. While it felt the best on my side, I got quality support on my back and stomach, too.
Brad Nehring
Senior Product Analyst
Side sleeper
215 pounds
Sleeps with a weighted blanket
My favorite things about this mattress were its ability to stay cool and its balanced feel. It has light contouring but also enough sturdiness to hedge against sinkage.
Colin Simpson
Product Research Manager
Side sleeper
190 pounds
Talks in sleep (like a lot)
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has more bounce than you’d expect for a mattress with memory foam, which helps make it easier to move in bed. But the downside is that it permits more motion transfer that can bother a bed partner.

Side Sleepers:
During our evaluation, side sleepers were generally pleased with the ability of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid to support their joints and spine. In particular, side sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds found the mattress hit the sweet spot of comfortable cushioning without pronounced sinkage.
For most testers, the light contouring from the memory foam was able to relieve pressure around the hips and shoulders, two key hot spots for side sleepers. Some people under 130 pounds thought the mattress was a touch too firm. For some side sleepers over 230 pounds, the comfort layers were too thin to fully cushion their joints.
Back Sleepers
Our testing found that back sleepers who weigh under 230 pounds get quality support from the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. They liked how the lumbar pad cradled the curve of the lower back. At the same time, they appreciated the bounce and sturdiness of the coils, which prevented sinking into the mattress.
Back sleepers over 230 pounds received adequate support from this mattress. However, they felt that it was slightly too plush, with the thinner comfort layers providing less dependable cushioning for sleepers with a higher body weight.
Stomach Sleepers:
The stomach sleepers on our testing team liked the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, but they didn’t find it to be their ideal mattress. It got the highest marks from stomach sleepers with a body weight between 130 and 230 pounds.
As a general rule, stomach sleepers maintain better spinal alignment on a firm mattress that stops their midsection from pushing down into the mattress. The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is medium firm (6) and softer than what stomach sleepers usually need, but the thick coils help compensate somewhat for the lack of firmness.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
6.5
/ 10
“One of the weaker points of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is motion isolation. The bounce from the coils is substantial, and the top layer of polyfoam also adds some bounce. As a result, there’s more motion transfer than you’d expect.” – Mary
Like a lot of hybrid mattresses, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has considerable springiness from the coil-based support core. The memory foam layers aren’t quite thick enough to insulate this bounce, so motion can spread from one part of the bed to another.
Our testing team didn’t find this to be a major problem, and it’s unlikely to bother most couples. But it may be a reason to look elsewhere if you are a really light sleeper and have a bed partner who moves around a lot.
Pressure Relief
7
/ 10
“Pressure relief on the Saatva Memory Foam Mattress is solid but not spectacular. I liked the gentle contouring, but some people may want a mattress with more hug.” – Brad
Our testing team gave this mattress average scores for pressure relief. Most sleepers experienced little to no pressure points, but others wanted deeper conforming to really soften impact around sensitive areas.
In the end, pressure relief is largely in the eye of the beholder since support needs vary based on sleeping position and body weight. We found that sleepers who like moderate contouring are most likely to be satisfied with the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid.
Temperature Control
8
/ 10
“The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid sleeps way cooler than most mattresses with memory foam. Air can flow around your skin and through the mattress to prevent heat buildup.” – Colin
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is a solid choice for people who want the feel of memory foam without overheating during the night.
Several features, including a breathable cover, airflow channels through the coils and foam, and gel-infusions, are all engineered to reduce heat buildup. In our testing, we found those features helped deliver a comfortably cool night’s sleep.
Edge Support
8
/ 10
“You really notice the effect of the reinforced edges in the support core of this mattress. I felt stable and secure when sleeping or sitting around the edge.” – Brad
You can count on dependable edge support from the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. The foam layers compress lightly around the edges, but the steel coils and reinforced perimeter create a base that stays solid across the entire mattress surface.
Ease of Movement
7.5
/ 10
“I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy to move on a mattress with two layers of memory foam. But ultimately, there’s plenty of responsiveness, so you don’t feel stuck in place.” – Mary
The ease of movement on this mattress is powered by the responsive coils in the support core. The polyfoam quilted into the cover also has a degree of bounce, so you can easily adjust your sleeping position and avoid the “quicksand” feeling that can affect some memory foam mattresses.
Off-Gassing
8.5
/ 10
“This mattress gets brought to your house without being compressed, so it has more than enough time to air out. I didn’t notice anything more than the faintest smell of brand-new materials.” – Colin
White Glove delivery almost completely eliminates issues with off-gassing that could come from the foam layers in this mattress. Since it never gets compressed and sealed in plastic, the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has plenty of time to ventilate after leaving the factory. For this reason, you shouldn’t notice more than a very light and short-lived smell on delivery day.
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress is 11.5 inches tall and has a firmness level of medium firm (6). Various materials layered together generate a balanced overall performance.
The cover of the mattress is made with breathable organic cotton that has undergone a special antimicrobial treatment. A thin layer of polyfoam is quilted into the cover. Below that is a lumbar pad made of gel-infused memory foam, which ramps up support for a key pain point in many sleepers.
In the main body of the mattress, 1.5 inches of memory foam generates light contouring and cushioning for the joints. This layer has a convoluted egg-crate structure designed to facilitate airflow and improve heat dissipation.
The support core is made with an 8-inch layer of pocketed coils made of recycled steel. The coils rest on a 1-inch pad of high-density polyfoam. There’s also a dense polyfoam border around the coils engineered to increase edge support.

The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has a higher price-point than many other hybrid mattresses. This is largely explained by premium features such as the organic cotton cover, memory foam lumbar pad, and robust pocketed coils. The price also includes White Glove delivery, a service that often comes at an added cost.
The Memory Foam Hybrid Mattress comes in the six standard sizes as well as split king.
Saatva ships the Memory Foam Hybrid to customers in the 48 contiguous U.S. states. The mattress can be purchased directly from Saatva’s website or in one of Saatva’s brick-and-mortar stores, which can be found in more than a dozen cities.
Shipping
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid comes with free White Glove delivery for all addresses in the contiguous United States. White Glove delivery includes installation of the mattress in your bedroom and, if requested, haul-away of your old mattress.
It can take a week to three weeks for your mattress to be delivered. Once it has left the factory, you will receive a call to schedule a time and date for the White Glove service.
If you live outside the contiguous U.S., Saatva will not deliver the mattress to you directly. However, depending on your location, Saatva may be able to help connect you with a third-party freight-forwarding service that can transport the mattress to your home for an additional charge.
Additional Services
All additional services offered by Saatva are included in the purchase price of the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid. These include in-home setup of your new mattress and removal of your old mattress.
Sleep Trial
Every mattress from Saatva comes with a 365-night sleep trial that allows you to test out the mattress in your home with the option to return it if you aren’t satisfied.
If you decide to make a return, you can contact Saatva, and the company will arrange for your mattress to be picked up. A $99 return shipping fee will be subtracted from your refund.
Warranty
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid has a limited lifetime warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
Saatva offers a replacement mattress at no cost if your mattress is found to have a defect during the first two years.
After the first two years, Saatva pledges to repair and re-cover a defective mattress. Both these options come with a $149 handling fee.
Also starting in year three, you have the option to use Saatva’s Fairness Replacement program instead of requesting a mattress repair. Under this option, you keep your defective mattress and get a significant discount on a brand-new one. The price for the new mattress varies from 50% to 80% of your original purchase price based on how long you’ve had the mattress.
