An all-foam, medium firm mattress from Canadian company Good Morning, the Octave Vista has a 12-inch profile and is good for side and back sleepers across weight ranges due to its ability to evenly distribute body weight to limit pressure buildup.

Octave is a mattress brand from GoodMorning.com, a Canadian company known for its mattress-in-a-box models. In addition to selling several mattresses, Octave also offers bed frames and bedding products.
The Octave Vista Mattress is a memory foam model with a medium firm (6) feel and a 12-inch profile. This budget-friendly option incorporates materials designed for cooling and a zoned core for targeted support and pressure relief.
Octave offers two other mattresses that are medium firm with foam-based designs. However, those models have higher profiles and additional layers. The Octave Mirage measures 13 inches, incorporating a layer of latex for enhanced bounce and cooling. The Octave Horizon adds a latex layer and an extra layer of gel-infused foam, totaling 14 inches thick.
We’ll highlight what makes the Octave Vista Mattress unique, including its construction, pricing, and overall performance in our test lab.

Side Sleepers
Most side sleepers should find the Octave Vista Mattress comfortable. The 2-inch memory foam comfort layer hugs the hips and shoulders closely, relieving pressure buildup. The polyfoam layer underneath adds to the cradling, while the high-density polyfoam core reinforces support for the lumbar area. The zoned design of the support core enhances contouring under the shoulders and adds extra support under the hips. This helps relieve pressure while still promoting good posture.
Side sleepers on our testing team who weigh over 130 pounds gave high marks to the Octave Vista’s supportive yet conforming design. They reported comfortable spinal alignment and experienced very little pressure buildup around their hips and shoulders. Because testers under 130 pounds didn’t sink in as deeply, they noted slight pressure buildup around these sensitive areas, but not enough to cause much discomfort.
Back Sleepers
The Octave Vista is well suited to back sleepers of all body types, particularly those under 230 pounds. The foam layers mold to the spine and hips to avoid pressure buildup. Meanwhile, the zoned core ensures extra support around the lower back to keep it from sagging excessively.
Our back sleepers under 230 pounds reported feeling well supported. They noted that they received ample pressure relief and felt little to no lumbar discomfort. Those over 230 pounds said their hips sank in more than they would have preferred.
Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers typically need extra support from their mattress, so the Octave Vista’s all-foam design is too soft for many who use this sleep position. That said, the polyfoam comfort layer and zoned polyfoam support core make the surface more responsive and comfortable for some stomach sleepers.
Our stomach sleepers under 130 pounds were impressed by the Vista’s medium firm feel and zoned support. These testers did not sink into the bed as deeply as those in heavier weight categories, so they received strong support despite the cushioned foam surface. Those between 130 and 230 pounds gave average marks for comfort but said they would have benefited from more support for their midsection. Testers over 230 pounds sank too deeply, putting strain on the lower back.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
8
/ 10
Motion isolation is one of the Octave Vista’s strongest performance features, as is common among all-foam models. The memory foam layer absorbs most surface-level vibrations. While the polyfoam in the second comfort layer has a somewhat responsive feel, it still results in minimal motion transfer across the mattress surface.
We performed a series of tests to assess motion isolation. We dropped a kettlebell next to a tester, then objectively and subjectively measured the amount of movement transferred across the surface. We also measured motion transfer when a testing partner moved around on the bed.
Throughout all tests, we detected very little motion. This makes the Octave Vista beneficial for sleepers who are sensitive to nighttime movements of co-sleepers.
Pressure Relief
8
/ 10
The Octave Vista’s all-foam construction allows it to adapt to your body’s shape, distributing pressure evenly to reduce aches and pains.
A top layer of memory foam softens in response to heat and weight, molding closely to the body. The polyfoam layer beneath adds deeper contouring but also has a responsive quality that helps avoid excessive sinkage. The polyfoam support core reinforces the bed’s overall sturdiness to reduce sagging and promote healthy spinal alignment.
The Octave Vista’s medium firm feel offers a balance of conforming and support that appealed to our side sleepers over 130 pounds, back sleepers under 230 pounds, and stomach sleepers under 130 pounds.
Temperature Control
6
/ 10
Since even the best memory foam mattresses are often associated with heat retention, the Octave Vista incorporates several features aimed at offsetting heat buildup.
The cover is made with specialized fibers engineered to stay cool. Copper and phase change material infusions in the memory foam layer are intended to disperse heat. Additionally, air channels in the polyfoam core are designed to promote air circulation so that heat can dissipate.
Our team conducted temperature readings that showed the surface did not overheat as much as some other memory foam models we’ve tested. Our product experts reported that the mattress remained at a comfortable temperature throughout the testing process, making it a good option for sleepers who enjoy the hug of memory foam but typically find it too hot.
Edge Support
6
/ 10
Compared to other foam models we’ve evaluated, the Octave Vista has moderate edge support. While the perimeter is not reinforced, the surface distributes body weight fairly evenly.
Most of our team members could sit or lie close to the edge without feeling like they might slide off. Testers over 230 pounds received slightly less stability but still found the edge support sufficient enough to stay comfortably on the bed.
Ease of Movement
6
/ 10
The Octave Vista Mattress is moderately easy to move around on. Because memory foam molds to the body and takes some time to regain its shape after a sleeper moves, models with memory foam comfort systems sometimes inhibit movement. While the Vista’s 2-inch memory foam layer hugs the body closely, it isn’t deep enough to make you feel overly restricted by the bed.
None of our team members had significant trouble changing sleep positions during our ease of movement tests. Those who weigh under 230 pounds didn’t sink in as deeply, so movement was easiest for them. Sleepers over 230 pounds reported that their motion was a bit more limited, but they still felt comfortable moving on the surface.
Off-Gassing
5.5
/ 10
Most foam mattresses in a box that ship compressed have at least a mild off-gassing odor, and the Octave Vista is no different.
When you unpack a new mattress that contains synthetic foam, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the manufacturing process are emitted from the foam. Since compressed mattresses don’t have time for these smells to dissipate in a warehouse, they release in your home.
Our testers reported that the Octave Vista’s odor wasn’t as strong as some all-foam models they’ve unboxed, and it mostly dissipated within the first 24 hours after removing the plastic.
The Octave Vista is an all-foam, medium firm mattress with a 12-inch profile. Both the firmness and thickness fall in the range preferred by many sleepers.
The top comfort layer contains 2 inches of conforming memory foam, which evenly distributes body weight to limit pressure buildup. A copper infusion is designed to draw heat away from the body. The memory foam also contains an infusion of phase change material that’s engineered to regulate temperature. A secondary 2-inch polyfoam comfort layer enhances contouring while also giving the bed a slightly responsive feel.
The support core is composed of an 8-inch high-density polyfoam layer that bolsters the entire mattress. It’s divided into five firmness zones to provide greater cushioning beneath heavier areas of the body like the midsection. In addition, air channels in the core allow air to circulate so that heat can dissipate.
A polyester cover encases the mattress. The material incorporates proprietary fibers engineered for cooling. The cover is removable and machine-washable for easy cleaning.
The fabric and foams in the Octave Vista Mattress carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and CertiPUR-US certifications, respectively, to show they’ve met established standards for safe materials.

Availability
Octave is a Canadian mattress brand and its mattresses ship exclusively to addresses in Canada. The Vista is available for purchase through the Octave website.
Shipping
The Octave Vista Mattress ships for free to most Canadian addresses, but a shipping fee may apply for deliveries to some remote areas.
Each Vista Mattress arrives at the customer’s door compressed, rolled, and packed in a box. The mattress should be unpacked within two weeks of delivery to prevent voiding the warranty. Once unboxed, it may take up to 24 hours to reach the intended firmness.
Additional Services
Octave does not offer White Glove delivery or old mattress removal.
Sleep Trial
The Octave Vista comes with a 365-night sleep trial. A 21-night break-in period is required. Between days 21 and 365, owners can return the mattress for a full refund of the purchase price.
In order to initiate a return, customers must first submit photos to Octave. Upon confirming eligibility, the company will send someone to pick up the unwanted mattress. The owner is responsible for wrapping it in plastic and moving it to the front door. Octave donates returned mattresses to charities when possible.
Note that the company does not accept returns of damaged mattresses. While the trial policy does not require the use of a mattress protector, it is advisable.
Warranty
The Octave Vista Mattress comes with a partially prorated 15-year limited warranty. This policy offers mattress repair or replacement if a qualifying defect arises, such as a visible indentation over 2 inches deep, a physical flaw, or a manufacturing defect.
Between years 1 and 10, the company covers the full cost of repair or replacement if it confirms the mattress is defective. For the remainder of the warranty period, the company pays 75% of the associated costs. Shipping and handling expenses incurred by the owner are nonrefundable.
This warranty only applies to the original purchaser, and it does not cover damage due to abuse or misuse. It also doesn’t cover commercial use unless the purchase was made by a commercial customer. Mattresses must be unpacked within two weeks of receipt to qualify for coverage.
