The Endy Hybrid showcases the reliable pairing of adaptive polyfoam comfort layers and a coil support core. Delivering a balance of cushioning and pushback, this mattress is an excellent match for people who deal with aches and pains in their shoulders, lower back, and hips.

Endy is a Canadian mattress company founded in 2015. The Endy Hybrid Mattress utilizes the company’s specially formulated Endy Comfort Foam along with a core of pocketed innerspring coils.
The Endy Hybrid comes in two different models. The base version is 12 inches tall and has a firmness level of medium firm (6). For an additional cost, you can choose a plush model that is 13 inches tall and medium soft (4).
Both models have a similar construction involving Endy Comfort Foam, transitional polyfoam, and thick coils that are designed to enhance lumbar support.
We’ll take a closer look at the Endy Hybrid, including its materials and pricing as well as its performance ratings from our in-house Test Lab.

Testing Team Takeaways
To test the Endy Hybrid Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.

The Endy Hybrid offered a nice mix of pressure point cushioning and overall sturdiness. I found that the medium firm model felt great for my hips and shoulders, which is a main priority for me as a side sleeper.

One thing I liked about the Endy Hybrid was that you don’t sink too deeply into the foam. That makes it easier to move on the mattress and allows air to move around your body for better temperature regulation.

I liked the Endy Hybrid, but I found its biggest drawback to be motion transfer. The Endy Comfort Foam offers solid pressure relief, but it doesn’t do a lot to absorb motion. You’ll notice when there’s movement on the other side of the mattress.

Side Sleepers
In our testing, the medium firm (6) Endy Hybrid performed better for side sleepers over 130 pounds, and the medium soft (4) model was better for those under 130 pounds.
To maintain a healthy and comfortable sleep posture, side sleepers need plenty of cushioning around the shoulders and hips. However, a mattress can’t be too soft, or these areas will sink down and out of alignment with the rest of the body.
For side sleepers over 130 pounds, the medium firm (6) model struck a good balance between cushioning and pushback, but the softer model was too plush. However, the medium soft (4) model got high marks from people with a lighter body weight.
Back Sleepers
During our tests, back sleepers of all body weights preferred the medium firm (6) model of the Endy Hybrid.
Back sleepers under 230 pounds gave the mattress the highest ratings and found that the Endy Hybrid was able to keep their spine in a neutral position while also supporting the lower back.
Back sleepers over 230 pounds said that they got adequate support from the medium firm (6) Endy Hybrid but generally prefer a mattress with more firmness.
Stomach Sleepers
We found that the only stomach sleepers who really liked the Endy Hybrid were those who weigh under 130 pounds. These sleepers gave solid reviews for the medium firm (6) model.
For most stomach sleepers, though, both models of this mattress are too soft for optimal support. If a mattress lacks firmness, a stomach sleeper’s abdomen can sink into the top layers, pulling the spine into a U-shape.
For this reason, the medium soft (4) Endy Hybrid was too plush for all stomach sleepers in our testing, and only people of a lighter body weight got a high degree of support from the medium firm (6) base model.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
6.5
/ 10
“The foam materials in the Endy Hybrid aren’t great at containing vibrations. It wasn’t a huge problem for me, but you can feel it when there’s movement on another part of the bed.” – Brad
The Endy Hybrid allows more motion transfer than many hybrid mattresses, especially on the medium firm (6) base model. Because the Endy Comfort Foam doesn’t closely contour to the body, it’s easier for vibrations to move across the mattress surface. We found that the plush, medium soft (4) model was more effective at isolating motion.
For either version of the Endy Hybrid, we think the lack of motion isolation is mostly an issue for people who are light sleepers who are bothered when their bed partner moves on the other side of the bed.
Pressure Relief
8
/ 10
“The foam in the Endy Hybrid doesn’t conform super closely, but it has enough cushioning to cut down on sharp impact around pressure points.” – Danny
Our tests showed that the Endy Hybrid offers pretty good pressure relief. The Endy Comfort Foam lightly cradles the body but doesn’t offer the deep contouring of a material like memory foam.
Overall, the mattress helped many of our testers maintain a neutral spinal alignment. However, sleepers over 230 pounds generally found that neither model provided the right balance of pressure relief and support.
Temperature Control
7.5
/ 10
“I was happy with the temperature control of the Endy Hybrid. It’s not designed as a cooling mattress, but it does a good job of avoiding heat retention.” – Jeremy
The base model of the Endy Hybrid offers good temperature regulation, and the medium soft (4) model is a bit worse in this category.
Because the medium firm (6) version doesn’t cling to your body, it’s easier for heat to escape instead of building up in the foam. The hybrid design also allows more room for airflow through the coils, so you don’t overheat at night.
Edge Support
7.5
/ 10
“On the standard model of the Endy Hybrid, the edge felt pretty sturdy to me. I could feel the foam compress when near the edge, but it didn’t make me feel unsteady.” – Brad
Our team found that the Endy Hybrid has dependable edge support, especially in the base model with a firmness level of medium firm (6). The mattress didn’t feel unstable when sleeping near the edge or sitting on the side of the bed.
There’s more foam compression on the softer model, meaning less overall edge support, especially for people of a higher body weight.
Ease of Movement
8
/ 10
“Since I didn’t sink into the mattress too deeply, I found it pretty easy to shift sleeping positions on the base model of the Endy Hybrid. Moving around was a bit harder on the plush model.” – Danny
During our testing, ease of movement was a strong point for the medium firm (6) model of the Endy Hybrid. The mattress doesn’t have too much contouring, so you’re less likely to feel trapped by the foam.
It is definitely harder to move on the medium soft (4) model since it does allow more sinkage. Even then, most sleepers didn’t find it to be a concern. It was mostly a problem for people over 230 pounds and combination sleepers who really cared about easy movement in bed.
Off-Gassing
6.5
/ 10
“With over five inches of foam, it’s natural that there’s some off-gassing with this mattress. I didn’t find the smell all that bad, but it did stick around for a handful of days.” – Jeremy
Our testing team reported a clear “new mattress smell” from the Endy Hybrid. This smell comes from the foam materials, which give off volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are created during the manufacturing process.
The VOCs can have a strong smell. For most people, this isn’t an issue, especially since the odor dissipates within a few days. But people who are very sensitive to smells may prefer a mattress without thick foam layers.
The Endy Hybrid Mattress is available in two models. The base model is 12 inches tall and medium firm (6). A plush model is available for an extra charge and measures 13 inches tall with a firmness level of medium soft (4).
The type and layering of materials are the same in both models. The cover is made with smooth and soft polyester. The cover is quilted with extra batting and a touch of the company’s specialty polyfoam, known as Endy Comfort Foam.
Beneath the cover, the top layer is also made with Endy Comfort Foam. This material is engineered to have enough cushioning to support your joints, but it doesn’t hug your body like memory foam.
The next layer is made with a transitional polyfoam that rests on top of a 7-inch layer of pocketed coils. The coils are reinforced around the perimeter and also set up in zones so that extra support is given to the area under the lower back.
At the very bottom, there is a layer of dense polyfoam that provides additional stability and sound absorption.
