WinkBeds is an American mattress company that has expanded its product line from its flagship WinkBed hybrid to include the all-foam GravityLux and the eco-focused EcoCloud.
The EcoCloud is a latex hybrid with a thick comfort system made of high-end, natural Talalay latex. Under the latex, the mattress has sturdy innerspring coils that are reinforced to support key zones of the body. Its firmness clocks in at medium, or a 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. In our testing, it showed strong all-around performance with especially great results for edge support, ease of movement, and temperature regulation.
We’ll cover everything you need to know about the EcoCloud’s construction and what it feels like to lie down on. We explain the findings from our test lab and wrap up by laying out practical information about shipping, returns, and warranty coverage.

Testing Team Takeaways
To test the EcoCloud Mattress, we had three people on our testing team each take the bed home with them for one week. Here are their initial observations.
Logan Foley
Editorial Director
Side sleeper

Has too many dogs in the bed
I love a good latex hybrid, and the EcoCloud did not disappoint. The thicker latex had plenty of give to take pressure off my hips and shoulders, and the edges are incredibly strong, so we could really spread out. The only downside for me was that I was able to feel my partner and my dogs moving, but that’s pretty typical for a bouncy latex bed.

The EcoCloud is a strong performer all-around and great to sleep on. Latex is a resilient material that provides plenty of support, doubly so with the strong base of coils underneath. It’s a bit on the softer side for a latex hybrid, but it’s more than able to support the majority of sleepers thanks to its build.

I really liked how breathable the EcoCloud was. It stayed cool for me in the heart of summer. I slept comfortably thanks to the bed’s floatier feel and I liked how sturdy it felt.

Side Sleepers
With its medium (5) level of firmness and gentle cushioning, the EcoCloud earns excellent ratings from side sleepers under 230 pounds. Members of our testing team gave glowing reviews for its ability to lightly cradle their hips and shoulders without excessive sinkage.
Side sleepers who weigh over 230 pounds liked the bounciness and sturdiness of the EcoCloud. Some felt that it had a bit too much give, but they appreciated the extra support from the zoned innerspring coils.
Back Sleepers
The EcoCloud offers solid support and comfort for back sleepers in all weight categories, and the highest ratings came from those under 130 pounds.
The resilient materials in the EcoCloud help it maintain an even surface that resists the feeling of being stuck in place. For back sleepers, that can play an important role in the alignment of the spine in the lower back. It’s especially beneficial when combined with the light cushioning from the EcoCloud’s latex comfort system.
In our testing, some back sleepers over 230 pounds found that they sank into the mattress more than they would like, but they still felt that overall support was sufficient.
Stomach Sleepers
The EcoCloud may not be the absolute best for all stomach sleepers, but our testers found it to deliver average to great results.
Its mix of firmness, responsiveness, and cushioning was most appealing to stomach sleepers under 130 pounds. For these sleepers, the EcoCloud maintained a flat surface and kept them from feeling suffocated when lying face down. The firmness level was just enough to cushion the body without too much give.
It was more common for stomach sleepers over 130 pounds to say that this mattress felt too soft for their liking. A number of people over 230 pounds said that they could feel their midsection push too deeply into the top layers, which reduced the support they got from the mattress. However, they did feel that the bounciness made up for some of the lack of firmness.
Mattress Performance
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation
6.5
/ 10
Latex and coils both make for bouncier beds, which means motion isolation is usually not a strength. The latex is softer and thicker, so there’s still a good amount of motion isolation, but you’ll probably feel it if your partner is tossing and turning in their sleep. – Logan
The EcoCloud is somewhat above average for motion isolation. While its softer Talalay latex contains some vibrations, the overall bounciness of the mattress means you’ll often notice when your bed partner rolls over or gets in or out of bed.
In our testing, this motion transfer wasn’t usually enough to cause sleep interruptions. That said, it was bothersome to people who are easily awakened during the night. For these sleepers, a memory foam mattress generally offers more motion isolation.
Pressure Relief
8.5
/ 10
The EcoCloud’s floatier feel lends itself to a good amount of pressure relief regardless of your sleeping position. There’s enough give for your high-impact areas to sink in just enough, like the hips, shoulders, and midsection. – Jackson
Our testing team noted great pressure relief from the EcoCloud. This results from the two textures of Talalay latex, the pocketed coils, and the medium (5) firmness with just enough cushioning for key parts of the body.
Although there’s no deep hug from the EcoCloud, most sleepers in our tests were pleasantly surprised by its ability to relieve pressure and support a healthy spinal alignment.
Temperature Control
9.5
/ 10
The EcoCloud’s one of the most breathable beds I’ve seen in our Test Lab. The latex and coils both have exceptional airflow to them. I barely felt any heat buildup on it while sleeping in the summer. – Jeremy
The design of the EcoCloud makes it an excellent choice if you are a hot sleeper who needs a mattress that will keep cool.
The cotton and wool in the cover are breathable and wick moisture away from your body. Latex naturally fends off heat retention, and the aerated latex in this mattress enhances that even further. If heat starts to build up, airflow through the coils can help regulate temperature.
Hot sleepers also like that this mattress is resilient, making it easy to adjust your position at any time. This reduces the chances that heat can get trapped and build up around your skin.
Edge Support
9
/ 10
The edges on the EcoCloud are seriously strong. As someone who shares the bed with my partner and dogs, I loved all the space we had to sprawl out. I felt like I could sleep right on the edge without falling off if I wanted. – Logan
Reinforced coils around the perimeter of the mattress lend strong edge support to the EcoCloud. This is good news if you spend a lot of time sitting or sleeping on the edge of the bed. It’s helpful if you share a bed and want to be able to use your whole mattress surface. It can also be a plus for people with mobility issues as it makes it easier to get in and out of bed.
Ease of Movement
9.5
/ 10
The EcoCloud is very, very easy to move around on, thanks to its latex hybrid design. Although there’s a bit of sink since the latex is softer, the underlying bounce from the latex and the coils work together to keep you floating along the bed. – Jeremy
The EcoCloud was rated as exceptional for ease of movement in our testing. The springiness of the mattress meant there was virtually no resistance when adjusting your posture or switching to a different sleeping position.
This ease of movement is valuable for combination sleepers and for anyone who likes to sleep more on top of the mattress rather than sinking into it.
Off-Gassing
9
/ 10
There’s a bit of a rubbery smell when you first take the EcoCloud of the box, but it’s not that strong compared to most other mattresses. The bed’s also a pretty breathable latex hybrid, so it airs out quickly. – Jackson
As a latex hybrid made with natural materials, the EcoCloud emits very few off-gassing odors.
Upon unboxing the mattress, some of our testers noticed a faint rubbery smell from the latex. This odor is considered perfectly harmless and should disappear within a short time, especially since the coils allow room for airflow.
The WinkBeds EcoCloud is a latex hybrid mattress with a height of 12.5 inches and a firmness level of medium (5). In our sleep lab, our team recognized a focus on quality materials throughout this mattress.
The cover is made of cotton that is certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and New Zealand wool. The cover is soft and smooth, and its materials are breathable and moisture-wicking for cooler sleep.
Beneath the cover, the comfort layer has 4 total inches of natural Talalay latex. This type of latex is known for its springy feel and ability to comfortably cradle pressure points. The latex is broken into two layers that have slightly different textures in order to enhance both bounce and pressure relief. Tiny pinholes in the latex enable airflow, complementing latex’s natural cooling properties.
The 8-inch support core is made of individually wrapped coils. The coils are composed of recycled steel, and the pocketed coil design lets each one move independently to cut down on motion transfer. The coils are divided into five zones with reinforcements for heavier parts of the body and around the perimeter of the mattress.
