What Is the Cube Sleep System?

The Cube Sleep System is a cooling mattress pad. Unlike most cooling mattress pads, which use gel infusions or other materials to draw heat away from the body, the Cube Sleep System contains integrated water tubes that allow users to set it to their preferred temperature.

The Cube Sleep System includes the mattress pad, a portable control unit and water tank, and a remote control. The control unit connects to the mattress pad via 8 feet of silicone tubing.

The control unit cools or warms the water and circulates it through the mattress pad at the sleeper’s desired temperature. Sleepers can preset the temperature before going to bed and adjust the temperature using the remote control. Because the Chili Cool Mesh Pad is thin, it can be used on top of a mattress without affecting the contouring properties of the mattress. Place the water tubes face up, and cover the pad with a fitted sheet. The tubes that connect the mattress pad to the control unit can be placed at the head or the foot of your bed. You may also opt to use a mattress protector underneath the Chili Cool Mesh Pad to protect your mattress in case of humidity.

When you’re ready to use the Cube, connect the tubes from the pad to the control unit. Fill the 13-ounce water tank with distilled water, plug it in, and turn it on. Turn on the remote control by pressing the power button, and use the hot and cold buttons to raise or lower the temperature of your mattress pad. The unit cools or heats the water to the right temperature and cycles it through the mattress pad. You can use the remote control to adjust the temperature at any time.

The control unit is best placed next to your bed, as it needs 18 inches free on all sides for proper ventilation. For sleepers who don’t know their ideal sleep temperature, Sleepme recommends starting at 65 degrees and adjusting up and down as needed. Cleaning and Care

Both the Cube and the control unit should be cleaned regularly to keep them in top condition. To minimize allergens and combat against buildup of dirt and sweat, it is advisable to wash sheets and pillowcases at least once a week. Since the mattress pad will be just below your fitted sheet, consider washing it each time you wash your sheets.

The pad can be washed in a household washing machine, preferably a front-loading model or one without an agitator. Sleepme recommends using a rubber band to tie the tubing, and washing the mattress pad in cold water on a delicate cycle. The mattress pad can be tumble dried on the delicate cycle with no heat. It should never be bleached, ironed, or dry cleaned. Do not reconnect the tubing to a power source until you are sure it is fully dry.

You should also clean the control unit once a month by emptying it out, filling it with distilled water and Cube cleaning solution, running it on high for 1 hour, and then draining it. Keep the vents clean by blowing away dirt and dust with a can of compressed air.
