Tom is the Director of Product Testing for SleepFoundation.org.

After a decade working in higher education, Tom brings the same eye for rigorous research to sleep products. He works with the product testing team to gather subjective and objective experiences and feedback, and makes sure the testing outcomes are reflected in Sleep Foundation’s written and video reviews.

What’s your biggest sleeping pain point?

Sticking to a consistent time for going to bed each night has been tough, especially on nights I don’t feel all that tired!

What’s your favorite sleep product right now?

I’ve been using the Boll & Branch Down Alternative Duvet, and it is a delight. The cotton shell is crisp and cool, the duvet is lightweight, and it keeps me at an ideal temperature throughout the night without the need for extra blankets.

What is your nightly sleep regimen?

Two hours before bed, I dim the lights in the house to create a soft mood. I make sure to brush my teeth, grab a glass of water to keep beside the bed, and make sure my alarm and coffee is set for the morning.

What’s your top sleep tip?

Like diet and exercise, sleep requires a kind of discipline. It can be hard to find a solid sleep schedule and sleep routine, but it’ll boost your mental and physical wellbeing.
