With three layers of foam and a medium firm (6) feel, the Casper One is designed to relieve pressure and support sleepers without feeling too soft. Side Sleepers
The Casper One is well-suited to side sleepers, especially those weighing under 230 pounds. Its combination of foam layers effectively cushions the hips and shoulders, without contouring excessively. This helps side sleepers feel comfortable and maintain spinal alignment.
In our testing, some side sleepers weighing over 230 pounds said that the Casper One was not quite firm enough to support their needs. They felt themselves sinking a bit too much into the top layers of foam.
Back Sleepers
The Casper One is on the softer end of the firmness range that back sleepers tend to prefer. Back sleepers weighing under 130 pounds gave it the highest ratings in our tests.
When you’re back sleeping, it’s important for a mattress to be firm enough to keep your midsection in line with the rest of the body. In general, the heavier a person’s weight, the firmer the mattress needs to be to provide adequate support. That’s why the Casper One was seen as lacking firmness for a chunk of back sleepers over 130 pounds.
Stomach Sleepers
When it came to our stomach sleepers, only those under 130 pounds got strong comfort and support from the Casper One in our testing. They appreciated the small degree of bounce and pushback from the top layer of foam.
For those over 230 pounds, the foams allowed the abdomen to push too far into the mattress, pulling the lower back out of alignment.
In addition to the hands-on feedback from our team, we conduct a number of quantitative tests in our Test Lab. The below ratings are based on the experience of our testers.
Motion Isolation

The Casper One’s all-foam construction allows it to excel at isolating motion. The two-layer comfort system absorbs movement rather than transferring it across the surface of the bed.
This strong motion isolation can reduce nighttime disturbances when your partner is tossing and turning, which is important for people who share a bed and wake up easily.
Pressure Relief

“The Casper One demonstrated that a mattress doesn’t need deep contouring to relieve pressure. Its foam layers worked together to cushion my joints and support good sleep posture.” – Brad
The Casper One lightly embraces the body instead of giving you a deep hug. As a result, the mattress softens impact around the joints without causing you to sink down into its foams.
This balanced pressure relief is best for sleepers under 230 pounds, especially those who sleep on their side or back.
Temperature Control

“I didn’t overheat on the Casper One, but it wasn’t exactly ice-cold, either. I think most sleepers will find that it has enough temperature regulation to keep them comfortable.” – Logan
The Casper One has slightly above-average temperature control. Although some warmth can build up in its top layers, it traps less heat than many all-foam mattresses.
The open-cell foam is intended to let air flow through for ventilation. In addition, because the Casper One doesn’t hug your body too tightly, your skin can breathe. While not the perfect match for hot sleepers, the Casper One should stay cool enough for the majority of people.
Edge Support

“Edge support on this mattress is pretty much what you find with most all-foam beds. It sinks more around the perimeter, which is mostly an issue if you weigh over 230 pounds or spend a lot of time sitting on the edge of your bed.” – Brad
Edge support isn’t a major strength or weakness of the Casper One. Instead, it’s around average. Like most foam mattresses, there’s greater compression near the edge, but our testers generally said it didn’t make them feel unstable or like they were going to accidentally roll off the bed.
Ease of Movement
6.5/10
“Although the Casper One has a memory foam layer, the foam that’s at the top is a bit more responsive. For me, that meant there wasn’t huge resistance to moving on the mattress.” – Danny
The Casper One earns above average ratings for ease of movement. It’s a bit better than many foam mattresses, but it has considerably less bounce than a latex or hybrid model.
The polyfoam layer in the Casper One has a touch of bounce and pushback, which limits the risk of feeling stuck in the mattress. That said, people over 230 pounds will sink in deeper and may encounter more problems related to ease of movement.
Off-Gassing

“When first opening the box, I definitely caught a whiff of the foam materials in the Casper One. The smell hung around for about a day or two and then faded away.” – Logan
We found that the Casper One has a clear “new mattress smell,” but it’s comparable to what you’ll find in almost any all-foam bed. The odor is a result of the foam manufacturing process, but there’s likely no health risk from it. If you can keep your bedroom ventilated, the smell should dissipate within a few days.

The Casper One is a medium firm (6), all-foam mattress that measures 11 inches tall. Its cover is made with a soft and stretchy knit fabric.
The interior of the mattress includes three layers. The top layer is made with an open-cell polyfoam that is built to be bouncier and more breathable than most foam materials.
The second layer is made of memory foam that compresses to match the weight and pressure of the body. The third layer is the support core, which is a high-density polyfoam that contributes sturdiness and stability.

Mattress Prices and Sizing
The Casper One’s price is average or slightly below average for an all-foam mattress. It is one of the most affordable mattresses in Casper’s product line.
The Casper One is available in all of the standard mattress sizes as well as a split king.
The Casper One is available to people in all 50 states. The mattress is sold on the Casper website. Shoppers in Canada can buy Casper mattresses through the company’s Canadian website.
Casper also has their own brick-and-mortar showrooms across the United States and sells mattresses through select retail partners.
Shipping
Casper ships the Casper One for free to the 48 contiguous states. Additional fees apply to shipments to Alaska and Hawaii.
The mattress usually arrives within one to two weeks after an order is placed. It will be delivered to your doorstep after being rolled tightly, compressed, sealed in plastic, and placed in a box.
There is no assembly required. You just need to remove the packaging and allow the Casper One to decompress and reach its full size and shape.
Additional Services
Casper offers White Glove delivery services that include in-home installation and removal of an old mattress. You can check the pricing and availability of this service in your area when ordering online.
Sleep Trial
The Casper One comes with a 100-night sleep trial. There is a 30-night adjustment period, which means you must keep the mattress for 30 nights to see if you like it. After that, you can request a return, and Casper will pick up the mattress and give you a full refund.
Warranty
Casper provides a 10-year limited warranty for the Casper One. If your mattress is defective, Casper will repair or replace it under the terms of the warranty. Neither accidental damage nor wear and tear are covered by the warranty.
