The American Thoracic Society has released new clinical practice guidelines on sleep apnea, sleepiness, and driving risk on non-commercial drivers.
The new guidelines, which are an update of a 1994 ATS statement on this topic, appear in the June 1, 2013 American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

ResMed Inc. (NYSE: RMD) announced that effective March 1, 2013, Michael ("Mick") Farrell will succeed Dr. Peter C. Farrell as ResMed's chief executive officer (CEO) and be appointed to its board of directors. Robert ("Rob") Douglas will become ResMed's president and chief operating officer (COO). Current CEO, chairman of the board and founder, Dr. Farrell, will become executive chairman. Together, Mr. Farrell and Mr. Douglas will comprise the office of the CEO and Dr.
National Sleep Foundation Launches Non24.sleepfoundation.org
The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) launched a new website today, non24.sleepfoundation.org, to help individuals who have Non-24-Hour Sleep Wake Disorder, a chronic circadian rhythm disorder. This online resource center helps people understand the disorder’s symptoms, prevalence, and available treatment options, and provides resources to manage the disorder.

WASHINGTON, DC, January 14, 2013- The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) will be releasing its annual Sleep in America poll results March 4, 2013. Since 1991, the poll is the annual check-up on Americans’ sleep health practices. This year’s poll will explore the relationship between sleep and exercise.
