National Sleep Foundation Expects More Than 500 Attendees for
Sleep Health & Safety 2011
Drs. Larry Culpepper and Charles Czeisler to Co-Chair Event
WASHINGTON, DC, August 9, 2010 - The National Sleep Foundation is proud to announce that its annual Sleep Health & Safety conference will take place on March 17-18, 2011 at the JW Marriott in downtown Washington, DC. Larry Culpepper, MD and Charles Czeisler, PhD, MD, will co-chair the dual track program with more than 500 attendees expected.
Dr. Culpepper is developing the Health Care Professional Track curriculum for primary care physicians and other health care professionals. The course will be a practical primer on how to incorporate the latest sleep science into clinical practice.
Dr. Czeisler is designing the Public Health and Safety Track to highlight the intersection of current sleep research with public policy, including the circadian rhythm and its impact on work schedules, transportation safety, and adolescent health and education.
Eminent faculty members in sleep medicine and research, primary care, government, and transportation safety will be announced this fall. Abstracts on the latest research on sleep science and its association to public policy and related topics are being accepted September 15- December 3, 2010.
Throughout the conference, the Exhibit Hall will showcase the latest products and services from a variety of companies in the sleep field.

Sleep Health & Safety 2011 will follow National Sleep Awareness Week® (March 7-13, 2011), which begins with the release of the National Sleep Foundation’s annual Sleep in America poll results on March 7 and ends with the clock change to Daylight Saving Time (March 13).
